Session Description

During this session we will learn the difference between the two disability benefits and share some hints on applying for benefits. There will be time for questions related to working and how benefits are affected by work. We will also talk about waivers, Medicaid and work.

Suzanne R Paulson, MS, CRC, CPWIC has been a certified Social Security benefits planner since 2007. Suzie has her Master’s Degree from Drake University in Rehabilitation/Mental Health Counseling and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Suzie also has a daughter Lucy, who has Down syndrome and is nonverbal. The personal experience as a parent, guardian and representative payee gives Suzie a unique insight into the systems that impact individuals with disabilities the best ways to get the services necessary for them to be successfully integrated into their communities.
