Now Hiring: Family Support Specialist

ASK Resource Center wants you to join our team! We are seeking qualified candidates to fill a part-time, hourly position offering 15 hours per week with a flexible daytime schedule. The Family Support Specialist position will work under the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) project here at ASK, and the primary duties include:
- Contacting and collaborating with families and health care providers to complete follow up testing and diagnosis for babies referred after their outpatient hearing screen.
- Maintaining complete patient records in the Iowa Department of Public Health database by documenting contacts and activities related to follow up and family support.
- Providing families of newly diagnosed Deaf or Hard of Hearing children information regarding their options for family support services.
Parents of children with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Because this position is available through the EHDI project at ASK Resource Center, preference will be given to candidates who have lived experience as a parent of a child who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
