March 23: ASK an Expert: Understanding Seizures and Epilepsy: Safety, School, and Support

Understanding Seizures and Epilepsy: Safety, School, and Support

Seizures can happen anywhere—at school, at home, or in the community. Knowing how to recognize a seizure and respond quickly and safely can make a critical difference.

Join Roxanne Cogil from the Epilepsy Foundation for an informative webinar designed for families, educators, and school staff who want to better understand seizures and epilepsy and learn how to respond with confidence. Participants will gain practical guidance on seizure first aid, common myths and mistakes, and the steps schools are required to take under the new Seizure Safe School law.

The webinar will also highlight resources and supports available to help families and schools work together to keep students safe and supported.

Participants will:

✅ Understand what seizures and epilepsy are
✅ Learn what to do—and what not to do—when someone is having a seizure
✅ Be aware of the new Seizure Safe School law and what it means for students and families
✅ Find helpful resources and supports for families
