KellyMarie Meek is the Coordinator of Prevention and Public Health at the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault, where she has worked since 2008. She has spent over 25 years working to end violence and support survivors, and she is passionate about mobilizing communities to build the future that we all want to live in. She has also been a foster parent since 2011 and assists with the training and recruitment of new foster parents in Central Iowa. She lives in Des Moines with her wife Erin and their horde of children and animals, and when she’s not actively working or parenting, she can usually be found staying up way past her bedtime reading, watching Star Trek, or admiring hairless animals on Instagram.


Val Cumming (she/her) is the Training Coordinator at EyesOpenIowa, where she develops and delivers engaging trainings for educators, youth-serving professionals, and health care providers across the state. With over seven years of experience in the field of sexual health education, Val has taught in classrooms, trained hundreds of professionals, and spoken at state and national conferences. She brings a warm, dynamic energy to her sessions while staying grounded in best practices, cultural responsiveness, and a deep commitment to serving diverse populations with care and confidence,
